Toy Review: R&M Kamen Rider Zolda and Magnugiga

Welcome to my written review of the R&M Magnugiga and Kamen Rider Zolda from Kamen Rider Ryuki. It has been announced that SHF Zolda will be arriving this year and definitely be posted on this blog. As we wait for that, let's look back on the first tandem through Rider and Monster series.

Kamen Rider Zolda's articulation is like what you can compare with today's OCC and FMCS line. Its fingers can articulate to handle the Magna Visor well. That's the only purpose for it. What lacks from today's SHFs is an ab articulation. The feet have limitations especially when you pose these with knees bent and legs apart. The rest are of the articulation points are decent but nevertheless a far cry from figures to date.

Since this was released between 2002-2004, the screws that hold the joints together are exposed. Even with this in mind, I feel that it secures the whole figure together but the bolts overtime (without proper care) rust and deteriorate. Life expectancy of these would be 5-7 years tops.
What brings you to this set is Magnugiga that can form into different vents. The arms are poseable but don't get your expectations so high. But I highly appreciate the mold and paint apps that were placed into this monster especially in final vent mode. The only difficulty I had was removing both halves of the upper torso to form the Giga Launcher and shield. I'm very careful taking both parts out and the instructions was not a huge help deciphering how to go about this. At the end of the day, my fingers were sore, which never happened in my entire review career.

Overall, the combination of both the rider and the monster will delight every Ryuki fan - timeless. As of this post, we have no idea yet if the SHF Zolda will have a contract monster. If not, you can use Magnugiga with your Figuarts, this drew me into making this purchase.
