Rie Tanaka, who also voices as Zodiarts Virgo in Kamen Rider Fourze, is joining in the new Space Battleship Yamato 2199 television anime series and film project, as the official website stated. Tanaka will be voicing Ensign Akira Yamamoto.
- Aside from Tanaka, more voice actors are joining the foray including:
- Shigeru Chiba as Commander Sakezō Sado
- Keiji Fujiwara as Chief Petty Officer Isamu Enomoto
- Aya Hisakawa as Lieutenant Kaoru Niimi
- Rina Satou as Makoto Harada
- Aya Uchida as Warant Officer Yuria Misaki
Also, the first two episode of the anime TV series will be previewed in theaters in Japan on April 7, 2012.
