Why Goseigers as Power Rangers Megaforce Will Work

When news broke out the Tensou Sentai Goseiger will be adapted for Saban's Power Ranger's 20th anniversary series - Megaforce, there has been a lot of frowns and debates why not use Gokaiger? Gokaiger seems to be more sensible since on the Japanese toku series, the story revolves around the crew looking for past ranger powers. Obviously, this was also Toei's anniversary sentai team and so far the younger generation's favorite Super Sentai team.

It is also been said by the leading authorities, that there is this non-written rule that there will be no skip on the series. There hasn't been one since Zyuranger (aka Mighty Morphin Power Rangers). Here are my thoughts why Goseiger will work as an anniversary series to Power Rangers.

If you could remember the Legend War (Gokaiger Goseiger Super Sentai 199 Hero Great Battle) movie and the preempt V-cinema (I think its Tensou Sentai Goseiger Returns), Goseiger is in a way telling us what has happened in between the time they all lost their powers against Zangyack. If Saban would follow on in line with the same plot, they would still apply the team fighting on Warstars to Matrintis till they actually bring everyone (rangers) together and battle against Zangyacks, taking all their powers (and other rangers) in the process.Thus continuing the Legend War story to Gokaigers.

Saban has a year to build this Legend War story which we hope to  bring into epic proportions. But again, I could only think of a year's story and give Goseiger's justice. 

Here is a thought, the Megaforce series will run for two years like Power Rangers Samurai, so the question is not about why Goseigers should be adapted but how will Saban stretch the Legend War story for two years without emptying the space for Gokaigers. 

I think the way fans react negatively to Goseigers/Megaforce announcement is invalid without looking at the plots laid out for the 199 Hero Battle.  I am hopeful that Megaforce's story will be better than Goseiger and also hoping that Saban's version of the Super Sentai War presents another perspective that would delight fans of all ages. We've been wrong before.
