Almost all the main hsieh riders are almost updated in the S.I.C. Kiwami Tamashii line. Just a few more releases left. Recently Bandai went back a few steps to release finally Kamen Rider Kuuga.
In Kuuga's release, the box art has been rebooted to a more universal look that both Japan and markets outside of it can appreciate and understand what this figure is all about. Aside from the SIC KT Liner, this is the second thickest box you'll find in the market today because it offers more than previous releases.
As predicted, the S.I.C. Kiwami Tamashii Kamen Rider Kuuga form is taken from its Decade Edition of the larger SIC line. He has at least four hands and with a nifty Tamashii Stand display set and a laminated rider kick piece and lastly an effects part. This is a first in the S.I.C. Kiwami Tamashii line. It is easy to scratch the laminated piece and there is no formula on how this should be hanged on Kuuga. The Tamashii Stand is smaller than S.H. Figuarts offerings to scale perfectly with Kuuga. What's cool is that the flame effects can also be plugged on Kuuga's fist.
Although that has been said there are some difference between this and the Decade Edition. For example, the shoulder pads are now placed above the armor as supposed to the Decade EDT. Horns are narrower and this has more obvious muscle sculpting which trumps against the bigger version.
Articulation slightly hindered and not as flexible especially on the waist and abs crunches. The rest is darn neat. Kuuga is tad smaller than other Kiwamis. Check out the video below how to rectify it. Other than that, the knee pads are in reverse, I'm not sure why it is done but this is also easy to modify .
With the absence of the Gouram, the SIC Kiwami Tamashii Kuuga sort of fulfills the clamor for the character. The Gouram is replaced which a stand set and justifies slightly on its price range. The base of the mold is one of the most acceptable forms, this is why Bandai pursued this. I'm really loving everything there is to it even through I have some irks knowing that I have the S.I.C. version of this.
