Sony recently confirmed with the Guardian Newspaper that the company has stopped manufacturing PlayStation 2 worldwide. With this, retail stores will still sell PS2 to consumers until the supply runs out. The PlayStation 2 was a successor of the PlayStation console and one of the best selling consoles to date.
Since its launch in Japan back in 2000, Sony has sold over 150 million units worldwide and tied about more than 10,000 titles that sold 1.52 billion game copies. There were several changes to this model to make it slimmer and more energy-efficient. Rest in peace PS2.
