Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Ryuranger

Because of our delusional friends, RyuRanger has finally appeared in the S.H. Figuarts line. His form exudes a Chinese-themed look such as the dragon on the head and the design on his buckle. Ryuranger somewhat uses TyrannoRanger's shoulders and Red Hawk's frame. The rest is a mix of gold, red white acrylic applications and not to forget is his Dairanger patch on the chest.

As part of the Akibaranger gimmicks, the figure includes a China Red patch that is simply replaced through a peg system and an interchangeable head replacement with white eyes for the dragon accent. Even without the Aura Changer, RyuRanger will not easily be defeated with the accessory count. He has about 12 hands, the folded Star Sword and Cutter that could be holstered on to the figure's waist. With this is the equally handsome Star Sword, Star Cutter, Dai Buster the Dairen Rod which is basically a naginata for Ryuuranger and two bladed Dairinkens as provided by Grandmaster Yufang for the Dairangers.

It is really nice to have a figure that represents the 1990s such as Ryo of the Heavenly Fire Star coming through in S.H. Figuarts form. But there are a few minor details I want to point out before you can make the purchase. One of which is the shoulder pads that feels wobbly and can be compared to Shinkengers. Speaking of the samurais, there is also an equal red color shade on these pads and with the arms. Finally is the torso with a bit of a difficulty in bending forward. Nonetheless, this set packs a lot and there are hundreds of ways you can enjoy this figure. I do recommend this to those who have watched Dairangers and have enjoyed the show even if this didn't reach the Power Rangers adaptation.
