More photos of actor Tatsuya Fujiwa in Shishio Makoto's costume have been uploaded via Comic Natalie for upcoming two
new live-action Rurouni Kenshin movie sequels set for 2014. The local press had a chance to visit the set of the Shōnai Movie Village studio set in Yamagata Prefecture last November 3.
The photos above were taken during filming the scenes when Kenshin meets Shishio at his residence for the first time. According to character costume designer Kazuhiro Sawataishi, Fujiwara's costume made from material similar to hard plaster and wrapped with real bandages. Director Keishi Otomo adds that it takes 1 hour to suit up Fujiwara to transform him into the merciless Shishio.
The latest Rurouni movies will be based on Kyoto arc of Nobuhiro Watsuki's
original manga, specifically, the Great Kyoto Fire and Legend's End
storylines. Directed by Keishi Otomo, the two-part movies will be entitled Rurouni Kenshin: The Great Kyoto Fire Arc and Rurouni Kenshin: The End of a Legend Arc
or "Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Taika-hen” and “Rurouni Kenshin: Densetsu no
Saigo-hen" and will premier this August 1 and September 13, 2014.
