Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Ride Shooter

After a long time of waiting Bandai has made an S.H. Figuarts Ride Shooter, a follow-up DX version to suit for your SHF Ryuki figures. Since this technically should fit S.H. Figuarts, the entire body is longer, has more details and what used to be flat on the DX now replaced with translucent plastic especially on the signal lights. The threading on the wheels are different and instead of 1 single rear wheel, we now have two.

More differences show when you open the canopy of the Ride Shooter. The nose has a locking mechanism to keep the roof in place. Instead of a one seamless motion, the roof stops on a certain point and you have pull up the cockpit to fully elevate from the base. What is really cool are the seat belts that extends conveniently according to the size of the S.H. Figuarts. You need not to remove the plugs on the figure's belt as these clip nicely. The added feature are the kickstands that add to the accuracy of the vehicle. Last on the list is a pair of extra handle bars that have different sockets that keep everything simpler and without the need for further instructions.

I was looking forward to getting this S.H. Figuarts hoping to take the some of what made the DX alluring and making it better. Well, in terms of accuracy yes. The red plastic at the back looks better, the wheels a more present state, and even the back of the seat has additional details. I didn't doubt that S.H. Figuarts will have the less updated look but what it lacks is the die-cast feel that was appealing about the DX. No chromed features but I guess the dark grey mufflers work just as fine. But I think the DX would last longer than this S.H. Figuarts Ride Shooter. More from the video review below.
