Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Black RX (Renewal Version)

The renewal version of the S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Black RX is working its way to be the closest representation from the actual suit. His antennas now are more solid than that of the rubbery make and the paint application is slicker than the past release which is metallic. In this version, a clear plastic plate that is more striking and pleasing covers the Sunbask, a plus for Kamen Rider Black RX fans.

Changeable parts and other accessories are more than the first release. This set has 10 extra hand replacements, 2 kinds of Revolcanes with parts and an additional Sunriser belt with a peg sticking out. The clear Revolcane’s blade is detachable that is would be the other gimmick of the figure. Now remove the default Sunriser and replace it with a new version with a peg and stick the handle on it as if the sword is slowly sliding out of the belt. The other smaller blade seems out of place though and not sure why this was even included.

Improvements. Well that is already a given. Articulation is absolutely better especially on the neck joint that was a huge let down from the first release. The Sunbask on the abdomen is more accurate and the texture on the body now makes the entire figure more life-like. On a standing position the joints are well hidden and seemed seamless but the lines start to be quite off when you start posing the figure. Just be careful in removing the buckle as the gold plating scratches off easily.
