New Initial D The Movie Legend 1: Awakening Campaign In Shinjuku

Last August 6, the campaign for the movie  New Initial D the Movie Legend 1: Awakening recently kicked off in Shinjuku, showcasing a replica of Takumi's Toyota AE86, complete with the Fujiwara Tofu Shop logo. Also race queens Megumi Haruna, Tsukasa Arai, and Hino Reika graced the event handing over tofu.

New Initial D the Movie Legend 1: Awakening is part of the planned trilogy retelling the tale of Takumi Fujiwara, a highschool student who works at the gas station by day and for his dad at the tofu shop at night. His excellent driving skills and his father's modified Toyota Sprinter AE86 Trueno make him the best amateur road racer on Mt. Akina's highway.

Directed by Masamitsu Hidaka in partnership with Sanzigen and LIDEN FILMS production,  screenplay by Mayori Sekijima and Akio Dobashi  scored the soundtrack, the first film, Initial D the Movie Legend 1: Awakening  opens throughout Japan on August 23.
