Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Ex-Aid Mighty Action X The Beginning

The S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Ex-Aid Mighty Action X The Beginning set is a first of its kind bringing in 3 figures together namely Ex-Aid, Snipe and Brave. All figures are in level 2 primary fighting forms featuring the different motifs based on their respective genre games. Similarities include their power meter and game pad feature on the chest, the Gamer Drivers and their Level 1 masks at the back. Each driver has a working handle but their gashats follow their game representation.
Ex-Aid and Snipe have 6 exchangeable hands while Brave has 8. As their character suggests, all of them have their signature weapons. Ex-aid has his Gashacon Breaker in hammer and sword mode, Gashacon Sword for Brave and Gashacon Magnum for Snipe. The Gashacon Breaker’s handle grip is shared between to modes that is detached from the bottom. This is molded in such a way to avoid any misplacements or figuring out which side plugs in. Switching Snipe’s Magnum from Gun to Rifle mode is tricky at first but to change it, the left panel should slide to the side to release. Finally is the bonus set which is the stage with the Mighty Action X logo printed on it.

At face value, the set it very enticing but if you only need one of the characters, there are individual separate sets sold but these will not include the stage. Pieces inside are what you actually need to enjoy the figure together or separately. There are just some items that could have done better. For example the handle for the Gaschacon Breaker could have not been a separate piece because it is just one of those unnecessary hassles you want on your accessories. The upper thigh articulation is really odd as there is a potential to break the joint in between. I honestly do not understand why it has to have a inner gap. This makes it more difficult to articulate the entire leg.
