Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Great Cross-Z

Harnessing the power of the Great Cross-Z Dragon, S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Great Cross-Z reflects the evolved version of Banjo’s base form. The figure is basically the same frame as the plain Cross-Z but colors are more vibrant with the mix of orange, red, blue and lighter gold palettes and his Blaze Chest Armor insignia in the middle. The bottle and dragon doesn’t change its form but the colors also revolve as the theme suggests. The gimmick on the belt stays the same. The lever on the belt rotates, the Dragon detaches from the drive and can extend its head and tail and the bottle can be removed from the dragon.

Same with the base form, this also includes 5 hands, 2 to hold the beat closer and one hand to hold the lever on the belt. The Beat Closer’s mid section can be removed as well to insert the bottle in and it continues to have the extended hilt. 

I like this version so much as the colors pop out better and looks more regal overall. Since this is the same mold, I’m already familiar with the limitation on the joints. But that is the issue. It really feels like a duplicate of the same car model but on a different paint scheme. There are no add-ons to make you excite more in getting this variation of the character. This time, it is not Bandai’s fault as the tokusatsu show did the same.
