Toy Review: SH Figuarts Shinken Red

The first Super Sentai on the SH Figuarts toy line Shinken Red aka Shiba Takeru. Just like any other firsts -  the toy is both epic and paves the way for improvements. Nevertheless, this is another toy line, should Bandai would continue, everyone will start pre-ordering and go gaga.

Now lets count the...oopss wrong attribution.Mairu! Red has a decent number of  accessory count: 7 interchangeable hands, two swords, (Shinkenmaru and Rekka Daizantou) a shodophone and one origami and one in lion mode. Rekka is huge, well it should be if it wants to imitate what is seen on the show. It is almost a splitting image. Maybe I miss something but the details on it are up to a tee. I mentioned on my video review, (in titles) that the Hiden disks can be removed which is a plus. If these are the same with the rest of the Shinkenger line - it would be epic. This is  can also be said with Shinkenmaru in terms of the look and feel.

This figure is quite a catch to Shinkenger lovers because inclusion of the Shodophone and the two origami. I say that the best part are the holding hands that hold all the accessories mentioned above firmly. Check my video how they snugly fit and align with the accessories. Just one exception. Physics dictates that it is impossible to let the figure hold the Rekka, for obvious reasons...still not get it? The Rekka is huge and too heavy for the figure so a stand is needed to rescue.

About Shinken Red
Two major things to note for nitpickers, head is not proportional with the rest of the body and the red paint on the shoulders are darker and uneven. If you let his head and shoulder paint pass - Red is a keeper. Don't expect that he has the same mold as Kamen Riders. Again for obvious reasons - he is a Sentai. The rest is epic...thank god he is not exclusive...too bad the rest of the team (except gold) is. If you are ok with just Red then you are set. But what's the point of having Red without having the others? You decide.

OH! I forgot to mention that he also comes with a Kuroko. But this is only exclusive to the first wave of Shinken Red releases. Like Tatoba to Unkh. Wait for ShinkenGold coming at the end of March. ShinkenBlue and ShinkenGreen will be released in June as Tamashii Web Exclusives (it is rumored that they will be released as a two-in-one box. Pink and Yellow will be on July-August (TBA).
