Toy Review: SOTA Street Fighter Ken (Yellow Version)

One of my favorite Street Fighter characters of all time. For a time, Capcom included some smoking hot combos for Ken than of Ryu. Although Ryu may be stronger than Ken in the game, Ken supers however makes you feel explosive. A notable example is his flaming Shoryuken, which is already a three hit combo in one move.

I wouldn't say that SOTA's Ken is perfect. But nevertheless his sculpt near to, or reminiscent to its game counterpart. Ken has an extra head but I couldn't remember when he sported a long hair and a with a yellow bow.

It is also rare in the SOTA Street Fighter line that there are missed paint parts which is more common in SH Figuarts. In this, I am most appreciative of the quality of work the company has done with the line, especially with Ken.

As for the rest of the body, Ken’s form is similar to Ryu's. Of course without the torn Gi. Ken is more refined, clean cut. I guess that would be obvious as the character is wealthy and can afford to a number of outfits. Enough with this.

If there is any problem with Ken is his poseability in Hadoken. Unlike Ryu, his posture is a little bit short. A small nitpick that can easily be forgiven. The Shoryuken is his trademark anyway and that is executed perfectly. To add to this coolness is his Dragon Punch effects part with an etched hand inside the translucent plastic.

Other accessories that he carries are two extra hands - the "come here" taunting finger and a thumbs up or thumbs down hand.

I currently have the yellow Gi as at the time it is rare to find him in his original suit. If you don't like it there are plenty of color variants you can choose form - in white, red, and purple.

I'll let the video review below tell you more if his is worth taking or not.
