Toy Review: S.I.C. Kamen Rider W Fang Joker and Skull

SIC came to haunt my collection once again. First it was the SIC Kamen Rider W (Double) and Xtreme. Because of nice reviews from my fellow reviewers down in South East Asia, I came to pick up another SIC W figure. Onore Locust. With this, I welcome you to my review of the SIC Kamen Rider Fang Joker and Kamen Rider Skull(2-pack). Let see how they fair shall we?

The box design is very simple and straight forward embossed lines with Fang Joker's symbol on the left (facing the box) and Skull's, well skull is on the right side. The reason why I picked up recent SIC figures because they are twistee-free. Yes. When I had my first SIC (Kiva) taking out those wires have been a major pain and I slowly shyed away in pursuing forward with the whole collection. But with Kamen Rider W, brought me back on my knees and seemingly begging for more.

SIC Kamen Rider Skull

As Locust pointed out to me after I did the video review that his left shoulder has craved lines but his right side doesn't. His head sculpt is quite similar to my SH Figuarts version, however the fedora doesn't fit in - even if I forcefully squeeze it.

There are improvements on the joints from the time I reviewed SIC Kiva. Even a nice abdominal movement surprises me a lot. Another new addition to the SIC line is that his hands have ball joints and hinges to make the articulation more dramatic and flexible.

SIC Kamen Rider W Fang Joker

Fang Joker looks really better than Cyclone Joker. The gaps between the head is not as obvious as CJ because of the edges that surrounds the head. But with careful inspection it suffers as much as CJ. Fang Joker's joints are similar to Skull so I won't dwell as much. The only thing I have problems with is tilting the head back. This becomes more obvious and annoying.

There's a tip from Locust that you can slide the skirts a bit to enable you to flex the legs in a 90 degree angle sideways.

Skull has 2 pairs of hands, but you may also utilize some of FJ's hands in the process. The nicest accessory are the Gaia Memories and the attache case to store these. Wait there's more. Inside the is a Double Driver. I would prefer the Lost Driver instead since in the movie Skull hands a Lost Driver to Shotaro. Sadly, you can't even use the Double Driver.

Also included are two fedoras with the other that has a cut. A Skull Magnum is also included that can turn to a Skull Magnum and for Maximum Drive. You can also insert the Skull Memory inside. There are two Joker Memories and the rest are memories from Cyclone to Trigger. The first Joker Memory is for the Double Driver and the other one is for the case.

The next come on for Skull is the extra chest part that has hinges to open for his Maximum Drive - Rider Kick. I didn't notice this until recently. Just like in movie, Skull has an extra Crystal Skull head. Similar to CJ, the scarf is on a pegged hinge. This scarf is akin to its SIC-ness with torn parts at the end.

Fang Joker is also packing. First he has diecast (yet diecast, I almost poked my eyes with it) Shoulder Fang, Arm and Leg Fang plus a Fang Blade/knife. I hate the blade, there is no way I can make FJ hold on to this firmly. Even so, the rest looks really great. Diecast parts have been around the SIC line for quite sometime now.

There are two antennas which kept me thinking what this is for....beat me. Of course FJ isn't FJ without the Fang Memories - plural. There are also two versions - T-Rex/animal mode and the actual memory.

Sharing with the two figures is the Denden sensor which also has a removable memory stuck on its butt. Denden also transforms into a pair of goggles and a snail.

I still recommend 2-pack box and these are as fun as CJ.
