Play Arts Kai Arkham City Batman.
This is the third representation of Bruce Wayne in Play Arts Kai. It seems that people at Square Enix are truly banking on the caped crusader and true with this figure release. The Arkham City Batman is somewhat taller than Arkham Asylum but let us see if this version is better.
His bat chest piece looks bigger and clearer that the first release but looking at some screenshots and in-game footage, the figure is a bit off. Paint application have changed from gray and black to deep royal blue and some air brushes to highlight coarse texture on his frame.
Accessories are bland now that I’ve seen the first two.
He comes with the batclaw and a batarang and some extra hands which I can tell these are rehashed form past releases. An extra snarling face is included so well strike more fear to villains. The best accessory, to me, is the alternate portrait with a sort of snarling face.
Overall yes, it should have an click joints like the AA version as the glued cape hinders most of the articulation. Yes this is quite pliable but not enough to make the right action poses needed. Just like Catwoman, Batman’s way of replacing the head is equally difficult to do. Heating can do the trick but does it always have to be this way? If you like blue Batman than the original dark color, this maybe for you but since I’m more into poseability, the Arkham Asylum version is more of a keeper than this. More to this from the video review below.
