Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Wizard Flame Dragon

The S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Wizard Flame Dragon is the second non-exclusive figure from Bandai Tamashii Nations’ popular toy line. The upgrade form of Kamen Rider Wizard has his colors reversed, where red is a more prominent color. Flame Dragon has more prominent gems on the ring-shaped shoulder pads and the robe has changed to an A-cut.

There are some familiar accessories that are included in the set. Flame Dragon includes 10 hands but the left sides of course use the Flame Dragon ring. In addition is the WizardSwordGun in two modes and a stylized Flame Dragon stage. What has changed is how the two Wizard Drivers are placed on the figure. Instead of the peg on belt, now each has two on the Wizard Driver that make these more secure on the figure than the regular styles.

Highlight is the inclusion of the Drago Skull manifested on the figure’s chest. Removing the default piece is hard on the first try but once you get a hang of it, switching parts are easier. The Drago Skull has a ball-jointed head and a moving mouthpiece to do the Dragon Breath effect. Its swiveling ear accents are there to avoid scratching the shoulders or hindering the arms in certain positions. You can even remove the panel at the back in preparation for the All Dragon Form

Changes on the S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Wizard Flame Dragon are better than Flame Style. The Wizard Driver is no longer annoying and the simple attachments are easier to work with. Flame Dragon has a cleaner execution on the paint applications and everything you need are packed in one set. I’m not happy with other Wizard Styles but the rest of the Dragon forms look promising.
