Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider X

Kamen Rider X has finally been included in the S.H. Figuarts line. As one of the Showa riders who have transitioned in this toy line, Kamen Rider X sport details like that small "V" on his forehead, the chest pads, the giant water bug feature on his helmet and don't forget his transformation belt Ridol. To add, the handle can be detached from the Ridol. What captured my attention are the red and silver paint smudges or scratches on the figure and on the Ridol. These are just small issues and can be addressed with minor retouches.

Kamen Rider X surprisingly has one of the largest number of hand replacements, 14 to be exact. Other accessories include the Ridol Whip which doubles as a sword, a Ridol Stick, a Ridol Long Pole, a handle
with button and the Ridol Rope. Both the Long Pole and Rope are molded from a soft plastic material that allows these to bend with ease. Also Kamen Rider X has two black and yellow mufflers with fold contours hiding the X slightly. However, the smudges and the scratches are also seen on these which is a let down.

As a conclusion, Kamen Rider X is not one of the best executions in the S.H. Figuarts line however enough to be part of your Showa collection. What is best is that he has the right amount of accessories to allow diverse and finite poseabilities, making this as one of the most cost-effective releases to date. I do suggest getting Kamen Rider X while you still can.
