Toy Review: Play Arts Kai Street Fighter IV Sakura (Arcade Edition)

A recurring character from the Street Fighter franchise has made its way to Square Enix’s toy line. This is the Play Arts Kai Sakura following its form from Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition. There are no huge changes against game illustrations. Sakura still wears her known seifuku school uniform, a white bandana given to her by Ryu, red gloves and sneakers.

Since she somewhat idolizes Ryu, some extra parts are similar to the latter. She includes a pair of open hands, a face replacement, a hadouken effect with matching stand. There are no big changes also on face swapping; it entails just removing the hairpiece and swapping the parts. Same goes with the stand, simply form the stage first and attach the effect. All you need to level Sakura by bending her knees to match the stage. Finally she also has a figure stand.

I’ve nothing but praises on this figure. It has been a long time since we have an almost accurate figure in Play Arts Kai and Sakura is one of those rare occurrences. I’m more surprised that she has great articulation. She might even be better looking than the digital artworks. Some may argue that the shoulders are too poofy or the hips are too thick.
