The only rider that did not originally appear in Kamen Rider Ryuki has made its way to the S.H. Figuarts line. This is the S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Abyss. Abyss in a nut shell is actually an Undead in Blade's world in Kamen Rider Decade series. It is undeniably a mix of a shark and a sawshark with gill accents almost covering the body from head to toe. As part of Ryuki world, he also has plugs on the extremities that just like Kamen Rider Ryuki.
Abyss is accessory count is not too shabby. He has the Abyss Claw, a green armament, the blue shark Abyss Visor, 7 hands, 4 advent cards and two twin bone-like swords called the Abyss Saber. Surprisingly, even he is not from the original Ryuki series, he gets his own Tamashii Stage with the name and symbol printed on the platform. The Claw and the Visor has an open mouth gimmick but only the Abyss Visor can somewhat chew the Advent cards. In addition both have locking joints that act as an extension for the wrists.
I think I've seen it all. We've got bad mass retail releases and equally horrible web exclusives but this is the most baffling offering yet. Just because this nicely and well executed figure that was featured only once in Decade, is a regular release. This means that what we have here, is a figure in favor to collectors like us. I've said this before airing my love and hate relationship with Bandai but with Kamen Rider Abyss, it affirms that Tamashii Nations still loves us and somehow, hears our plea. Oh did I say this is an awesome figure? More to this from the video review below.
