The latest photos for the upcoming live-action Rurouni Kenshin movie sequels set for 2014 was released recently featuring Aoshi played by Yusuke Iseya and Okina or Nenji Kashiwazaki played by 68-year old min Tanaka as according to the Nobuhiro Watsuki's Rurouni Kenshin Kyoto Arc. The film will also
feature Takeru Satoh reprising his role as
Kenshin Himura and Tatsuya Fujiwara to play the lead villain, Shishio Makoto.
The production built Aoi-ya, Okina's two-story restaurant and inn from Nobuhiro Watsuki's original manga, in two weeks at Toei's Uzumasa lot in Kyoto. The crew recreated Aoi-ya in exacting detail down to the trees in the garden.
The latest Rurouni movies will be based on Kyoto arc of Nobuhiro Watsuki's
original manga, specifically, the Great Kyoto Fire and Legend's End
storylines. The two-part movies will be entitled Rurouni Kenshin: The Great Kyoto Fire Arc and Rurouni Kenshin: The End of a Legend Arc
or "Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Taika-hen” and “Rurouni Kenshin: Densetsu no
Saigo-hen" and will premier this August 1 and September 13, 2014 respectively.
