Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Kabuto Rider Form (Renewal, 2.0)

It is seems like Bandai is banking a lot in this new subset (Shinkocchou Seihou) of S.H. Figuarts starting with Kamen Rider Kabuto. Call it renewal version or Kabuto 2.0, the figure now boasts more true to life sculpt that went through vigorous research even on how the suit actor moves on the show. Unlike the first version, this new Kabuto is bulkier and more humanoid in action.

This time, Bandai used a peg instead of a ball joint for its 7 extra hands. These hands are parked on a tree, similar to Max Factory’s Figma toy line making the set more organized in a way. Then the set is inclusive with 2 Kabuto Kunai Gun versions in gun and kunai mode.

I honestly don't like renewal versions because I have spent a lot of time collecting only to find new versions of the same character. Sure there are improvements from past releases but the joints can be taken from past Ryuki and Kamen Rider Blade figure and bits of Figma. The sculpt goes without saying breathtaking, flaunting what Bandai as a company is famous for. As for its worth and playability, I actually had more fun with my Figure-rise 6 as it has more options and it transforms in different modes. If you want accuracy in this scale then welcome to the new S.H. Figuarts.
