Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Kyoryu Black & Kyoryu Pink

Another two-pack dino ranger set released is the S.H. Figuarts Kyoryu Black and Kyoryu Pink. Out of the box, Tamashii Web Shop Exclusive set features Bullet Hero and the Horned Brave’s dinosaur accents similar to the rest of the team with their embossed logos on their chest, scaled design on their arms and the Mobuckle.

Similar to other Kyoryugers are their weapons called the transformation device Gaburivolver, the Gabricalibur swords and Beast Batteries. There is a difference in the hand replacement count, 7 for Black while 8 for Pink. Of course each have their own separate Armed On arms and their special armaments, the ParasaShot for Black and the DriceLance for Pink. Armed Modes are no surprise when used on these figures and works just the same as past Kyoryuger releases. The combined Stego Shield and Zakutor Slasher is included to finally complete the Kentrospiker. To do this, take the Fangshot from KyoryuGold to be the base and the extra DriceLance from KyoryuBlue and Green set as the tip. When completed this special Kentrospiker is bigger than KyoryuRed and may require a stage when held with two hands.

There is something off about KyoryuPink that I can’t put my finger on. It could be Pink’s small head or her bigger body. I was hoping for Deinosgrander parts but again, it seems I’m asking a lot from the figure series. It would be great if it did since this is another special weapon tailored to Black. Final to note is the slight hindrance on the arms when raised on the side. This is more evident on Pink when doing her role call pose. I’d recommend getting this set for Kyoryuger fans but I do hope for more accessories and completion of rangers in the future. More to this from the video review below.
