Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods Earns Big In U.S.

Box Office Mojo recently reported that the dubbed Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods raked in about US$2,553,002 as of  August 12, after adding 350 theaters screening the film. As of the moment, the movie ranks 11th in the theatrically released anime of all time in North America, under Howl's Moving Castle, The Wind Rises, Digimon: The Movie, Spirited Away, Pokemon 3 - The Movie, The Secret World of Arrietty, Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Movie, Pokemon: The Movie 2000, and Pokemon: The First Movie. 


Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods was first premiered in Japanese theaters  last March 30, 2013. The latest issue of Jump magazine has revealed that Akira Toriyama is currently working on a new Dragon Ball movie slated for spring 2015 release. Toriyama has also confirmed that like Dragon Ball Z: Battle of God, this film will tell a new story set in the Dragon Ball universe. Toriyama is currently working on the new character designs, and asked his fans to look forward to the movie. Also it was revealed that Dragon Ball Z animation director Tadayoshi Yamamuro will direct the movie. Official title has yet to be announced.
