When comparing the old and the new side by side, the difference is very obvious. Starting from the height of the figure, details from the marks and emblems on the head and shoulders, even the build has been improved with the Shinkocchou having a more humanoid look. We now have a somewhat working Wizard Driver with the hand turns left or right and the tabs go up and down accordingly.
Inside the box includes 10 more hands with only 1 full closed first, 8 rings neatly arranged on a plastic tray and his Wizard Sword Gun with the handle, gun and blade separated from each other. After actual unboxing, you shouldn’t be surprised by now that there are still a few things to set up like the rings on the open relaxed hands. These rings are not as simple to plug them in to try to be a little more patient when putting them on the hands. The rest of the rings are supposed to be placed on the ring holder beside Wizard’s waist. The blade and the gun modes are interchangeable and you’ll definitely hear a snap to let you know that these have been placed nicely.
If you have been following my channel, you’ve known already how I detest the first release with its horrible execution. How I long for an update or a renewal version for the rider. Every part that I wanted to have improved did improved and showing them side by side with both old and new version proves just that. It is not all sunshine and rainbows as I have a few questionable compromises. Like mentioned earlier, there is only 1 closed first and why did Bandai started with relaxed. It is unorthodox for Bandai. I’m also not on board with having detachable rings, as you will loose them if you are not attentive and I do not see the practicality since this is Flame Style anyway. It is cumbersome to interchange them I bet most of the time those who have these already will not both to switch them so often. Lastly I have no idea why the Wizard Sword Gun has to be split into parts. This is not like the Trigger Magnum that serves a purpose. Even with those minor unbecoming, this is the Kamen Rider Wizard Flame Style, we tokuheads deserve.
