Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Gatack Extender

Gatack Extender finally makes its way to the S.H. Figuarts line as its successor to the EX CORM version released some time ago. Based on the Honda XR250, the bike has been modified to match with the motif of the rider. Compared to the CORM version, this is slimmer with some working parts such as the wheels, the front fork that twists from left and right, the spring action for the rear wheel and a kickstand. Alternatively, there are 2 different stands. One to be attached on the rear wheel as most figuarts bike have and one that latches at the bottom of the engine area. This is for you to plug in any tamashii stands if you want it floating together with Gatack.

My obvious gripe about the set is that this doesn’t transform into Ex Mode. It is a fight between form and function. But for me, Bandai shouldn’t sacrifice one against the other. My best bet for the reason behind this is because of how the bike actually looks like.  Other than that, this is a nice representation, parts work, the paints apps do match with the rider and somewhat fits together with the Shinkocchou Seihou Kamen Rider Gatack. It is nice but with the exclusive tag, you might want to hold on to other figures instead.
