Coming into the Shinkocchou Seihou line, Kamen Rider Gatack’s rider form sets a feeling of nostalgia to those who have been collecting S.H. Figuarts line since the start. The difference is that the gold trims are more prominent especially on the chest. The chest is also in one seamless plate rather than having 2 sections for movement. At least the default Zecter is more detailed and closer to accuracy since Shinkoccou figures technically have a larger frame that its predecessor.
Included are just 3 pairs of extra hands, another closed antler version of the Gatack Zecter and the Double Calibur. Since it follows Kabuto, the hands are on a peg and snaps in and out quickly. Replacing the Zecter is also quick and easy showing a gap when released from the belt. The blades lie on top of each other then interlocked. With this, they create a scissor-like weapon resembling a stag beetle's mandibles for his "Rider Cutting".
For those collectors who have been deep into the Shinkocchou Seihou line, the peg wrists may not cut it at this point. For me, I like mine to be multi directional rather than an in and out movement. Next is that I am expecting the premium line to be well thought of. This is the case of the shoulders have one protruding part and an inverted placement on the other. The pegs on these are easy to detach so I think there is a way to replace or even hide them so it is kinda an eye sore. I’m totally surprised that we only had 6 replacement hands while previous and succeeding figures had more. 12 the most in fact. Lastly, if Kabuto’s zecter is functional so it makes no sense why Gatack’s version isn’t. That’s all the criticism I got for this figure.
