Toy Review: Storm Collectibles Ken Masters Street Fighter V

Storm Collectibles delights us with their rendition of Ken Masters in figure form in Street Fighter 5. This is his default costume with his top down, a workout shirt, and a ponytail hairstyle. Yet with the modern look of the character, he is still barefoot. 

This set packs a lot. First are 6 hands, 2 additional face expressions with 2 different bangs, 4 fire effects for his fireball, dragon punch, tatsumaki senpukyaku and smaller version for his foot. Additionally, a Street Fighter 5 stage with a adjustable arm. 

Finally just in case, the box also contains a backdrop of one of stages in the game. Replacing the face sculpt is a familiar site with a simple swap and the bangs are on a single peg that comes in between. 

The dragon punch effect and the tatsumaki senpukyaku fire effect are the easiest to apply as it just sits on top of the fist and can be used on both sides. Fireball is quite tricky as it is just supported by open hands. But once you got the palms angled right, it can sit comfortably without any issues. 

Since the character designer at Capcom supervised this, you’ll see the care and detail in creating the Ken in action figure form. The details are superb, crisp up to the smaller point that you may even miss out. Quite in the expensive spectrum but you will definitely get wait you paid for. My only gripe is the material used, because some joints lock into a certain position and the wrist pegs really feels soft and brittle so proceed with caution.
