Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Retsu Ichijouji (Uchuu Keiji Gavan)

Bandai’s rendition of Retsu Ichijoji in S.H. Figuarts captures the 1980’s garb as seen in the show Uchuu Keiji Gavan. Out the box, the figure sports a familiar brown leather jacket with matching boots and gloves. The chain is also visible on his left shoulder but this is made out of soft plastic material. This set only is inclusive with 2 pairs of hands, mainly for his signature transformation poses. Also, this comes with a transparent plastic placed with a stand that represents the Jouchaku effect sequence.

The entire set is super simple and has all the items you need. The figure is highly poseable and very well balanced despite having platform heels. Headsculpt is the most impressive part as it does look like the young Kenji Ohba and it is very uncanny. My only complaint is the legs as they are obviously bow-legged. Next there are yellow-ish spray applications that look like dirt that highlighting the lines on his pants. But unlike some S.H. Figuarts, there is a good side on the bow-legged mishap which allow better stability especially on transformation poses.
