Bandai has recently released the updated version of the S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider OOO Tatoba Combo for the Shinkocchou Seihou line. As expected the body is now more proportionate with a thicker torso and more rounded head. Out of the box, just to let you know that the figure doesn’t have the medals slotted in the OOO driver. I will discuss the medals in a bit.
The entire set comes with 9 hands, 2 extra forearms for the claws, Taka Tora Batta medals, OOO scanner, a picker for the medals on the OOO Driver and his personal weapon on this form - the Medajaribur. The OOO medals aren’t fitted on the figure when it comes out of the box so you do need to cut them from the runner. Since the medals are too small, the picker does help in taking the out of the OOO driver. Forearms are replaced with the versions with the claws facing forward. These are longer than the ones as a default on the figure. The OOOs scanner slides on to the holster quite snuggly so that is a good update. The Medajaribur has a moving handle but you can’t put the 3 silver medals in. As a replacement, a new slot with the medals will compensate this. The biggest gimmick is that the 3 halves of the figure are detachable which showcases that this new version will enable you to do the combo changes.
If there were complaints (which I hadn’t had one) for the first release of Kamen Rider OOO, I’m sure these have been corrected in Shinkocchou Seihou. I’m super stoked that this version will allow you to create combo changes which means you do not need to but all those separate combinations as what Bandai has done years ago. The joints are tight but I foresee some stress that will go on and loosen the separation of the head, torso and lower abdomen when one keeps on interchanging these for other combos. So be careful about it. The set will also test your skills in removing the medals from the runner so make sure you use proper tools so that you’ll have the perfect fit when inserted on to the driver.Oh this didn't come with Ankh's hand and medals so that in one of the advantages of the first release.
