Toy review: S.H. Figuarts Iron Man Mark XX Python (Iron Man 3)

After the release of Mark 85, Bandai backtracks a bit with the release of the S.H. Figuarts Iron Man Mark XX aptly called Python. Python is almost repainted version of Mark VII and was featured in the movie Iron Man 3 during the final battle and was later destroyed during the Clean Slate Protocol. The most noticeable feature will be its Black and Gold color design on its armor plating similarly to the previously released S.H. Figuarts Mark 3 black edition. I’ll compare this with Mark VII in the video review. It also has the thruster flaps that move up and down.

The set includes 6 hands, missile launcher for the shoulder pads. Anti-armor missiles for the gauntlets and forearms. The ones for the shoulders work the same with Mark VII which you would need to detach the default ones first. The forearms will just be a quick replace and snap but the you would need to remove the wrist guards to retrofit with the version with missiles. What is missing is the thigh plates which you can only see in Mark VII as of this review. 

If you find faults from Mark VII, this will be the same with Python. However I do like the color scheme and the mechanical features on this figure. It is not a complete repaint from Mark VII but at least it almost follows the structure as seen in the movie. This feels more like an improvement of Mark VII and most of the extremities are close knit which I feel makes the entire set one of the most appealing armors released for the S.H. Figuarts line.
