Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Fourze Fire States

To be honest, even up to now I am not fan of Kamen Rider Fourze's look. But if asked what is my least pet peeve it would be this form. The S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Fourze Fire States is themed after, well, a fire truck, or I think it is.

From the box art, we can see that it is well-themed with the form. There are flames on the window and Firestates looking from afar off his shoulder. Out of the box, his slew of accessories are the following: the potechokin in both food and robot mode. Just like the other Foodriod robot modes that were packaged with Kamen Rider Fourze, it is hard to make this stand but it is also something I let go off when Burgerdriod was released. A really prickly Spike Module is also included on the line up. Lastly, 5 switches, 6 hands (three of each side) and a Hee Hack Gun.

The Hee Hack Gun has a separate trigger so you can connect two kinds of cables. I'm not sure what was the difference between these two or how it should work on the show but at least we have a variety on how we can use the gun in different lengths. Bandai keep it as real as possible when they molded the trigger section with a red translucent plastic. You can holster the gun on its waist when it needed to be. In general the accessories are sturdy enough to at least withstand a decade without melting.

Firestates' signal lights are in nicely molded translucent plastic and there are not very obvious and in your face.  What I didn't like is the peg that holds the gun sticks out like a sore thumb and there is no other way to hide it except if the arms are clipped. I realized after a few tries in changing modules that the grooves tend to flake away so a warning to those who play their Fourze figures a lot. I think what I really like about Firestates is his translucent face plate that has a gradient shade of red, yellow and a hint of green. Another is the tube-like cable that wraps around his shoulders connecting all those lights. Oh yeah, you can balance Fourze with just one leg even if the Spike module in on. Not that is it important but at least I noted this anyway.

In my opinion FireStates is the most likeable Fourze mode to date and has the most cooperative joints against previous releases. Just be aware that the switches continue to fall off easily but not as frequent as Base States.
