Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Medusa Phantom (Kamen Rider Wizard)

Following the mythological motif, the S.H. Figuarts Medusa Phantom from Kamen Rider Wizard includes scaly skin and her hair replaced with snakes. Her upper torso is quite odd on how the joints on her shoulders are exposed just to give way to the hourglass shaped body. What is indeed off are her blue high heels that clashes with the rest of the colors.

Included in the Tamashii Web Exclusive figure is her snake-like scepter called the Arrogant and just four pairs of hands. There are no actual holding hands on this set but one of these doesn’t really hold on the staff. The trick is inserting one of the fingers in between the coils of the snake. It is not exact science but this is the only way to have this hold on to Medusa.

Medusa is really sexy in figure form. The colors are nice, though the accessory count seems not enough. She has the joints just like any other S.H. Figuarts but there is a huge limitation on the upper torso and on the legs. What hinders the articulation even more is the hard plastic behind the legs. I like the fact that this is in S.H. Figuarts form but if I have these small fails that lessens the playability of the figure. With that, I’d rather have her as a Figuarts Zero instead.
