Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Phoenix Phantom (Kamen Rider Wizard)

Bandai's presentation of the S.H. Figuarts Phoenix is quite a mix of S.I.C. features and a little bit of the Makai Kaido line. Unlike the riders, Phoennix has a very coarse texture but the body proportions are just plain splendid. Its acrylic paint application is clean with smooth transitions and blended well all together.

Phoenix has 6 interchangeable hands and his sword called the Catastrophe. The weapon kinda reminds me of Kuuga Titan Form's Titan Sword, a huge blade ornamented with symbols or an ethnic looking design. What's great is that the holding hands have a nice grip, not too loose, not too firm.

The only hindered part of the figure is only on the back neck tilt. This for me is okay since the joints can match any of the most nimble Kamen Rider figures. Proportions on Phoenix is well balanced and far better than Kamen Rider Wizard Flame Style. Moreover, the accessory count is manageable and the entire execution is admirable. It feels like Garo meets Kamen Rider OOO Tajadol combo. What would collectors shy away from this figure is only its Tamashii Web Exclusive tag.
