Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Apollogeist

The S.H. Figuarts Apollogeist uses almost the same frame as the Shocker Combatman with small arms and legs. To make it more unique, Apollogiest has boots and gloves covered in glossy acrylic paint application. To top it off is his signature white cloak and that memorable helmet piece that brings you back to 1970s nostalgia.

The figure doesn’t have that much, but he has the parts he had used in Kamen Rider X. Apollogiest only has about 2 pairs of extra hands, his gun called the Apollo Shot and the Geist Cutter. In order to use the cutter with the holding hand, the handle must be detached by pushing this on the other end. Both weapons do suit and is in scale with the figure, bringing everything into a complete state.

As a Tamashii Web Exclusive, this figure definitely represents that main villain in Kamen Rider X. But will he match with Kamen Rider Decade? No. For those new in the Kamen Rider world, note that Bandai is using a 70’s design, - thin, frail and loosely plain. Those who have watched the Kamen Rider X will get a better appreciation of the figure. However, Tamashii Nations was wise to separate Revived Apollogiest as another exclusive. If I would personally choose S.I.C. and this SHF, I would choose S.I.C.’s design hands down. More to this from the video review below.
