Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Dark Decade (Custom)

The S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Dark Decade hails from mixing gray and black tones to follow from the game Climax Heroes. While the default glossy black paint finish remained untouched, the magenta colors where sprayed with gray without scraping the original color off the plastic. His compound eyes were refitted with blue translucent plastic while the DecaDriver was hand painted because of its size. To top it off is the yellow masking on the shoulders, outer thighs, wrists and ankles.

The Ride Booker’s three modes namely Book, Gun and Sword modes remain untouched and so as the 7 extra hands from the Violent Emotion set. However to match the default head, its replacement part was also painted to keep it consistent.

If I would criticize the person who created this, I believe that the gray areas were applied almost perfectly despite I can see some paint fading exposing the original color. A little bit of care could have given on the yellow accents, probably would have done thinner lines that what was applied. But overall, this custom version of Dark Decade for S.H. Figuarts looks very legit and could have passed for the real thing if Bandai wished to produce this. Besides, who am I to complain, I can’t even color properly on paper.More details from the video review below.
