Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Auto Vajin & Kamen Rider Faiz Set

The S.H. Figuarts Auto Vajin & Kamen Rider Faiz set is one of two options released by Bandai’s Tamashii Nations. This version has of course Faiz that you’ve already known by now with the Pointer and Shot placed around the waist. Its difference is the Axel Watch on the right wrist that you can replace with another version with the Mission Memory. I will not give much emphasis since the rest is the same with past releases.

But Faiz is inclusive with some familiar accessories like the 2 additional belts, the Faiz phone with gun and Blaster mode, 4 extra hands – one with the Faiz Shot, a longer Faiz Pointer and finally the Faiz Edge.

What fans are waiting for is the Auto Vajin. In vehicle mode, Bandai let you explore the finest details of S.H. Figuarts. It all comes down from the bronze piping of the engine, logos on the gas tank and front scoop and clear detailing on the gas cap. As a bike, it has a functioning kickstand and at the back is the Gear Box held by a brace. It opens, but you really can’t put every single armament in and the grooves don't fit any of the accessories.

Transforming the bike to Battle Mode will remind you more of the Super RHF version than the Kiwami Tamashii. The difference is the addition of head swapping during the transition and also the hand replacement if you need to use a more accurate closed fist. Once complete, what you have is a refined version of the Super RHF, and this will be a good scale with Kamen Rider Faiz. Other accessories include a rear wheel support, 2 pairs of additional hands, another pair of wrists for Kamen Rider Faiz and the Buster Wheel gun that you need to release one of the pegs and replaced it with a grip for Auto Vajin to hold.

What I do miss from Auto Vajin in this version is the lack of die-cast parts. To me, it is really needed to add leg support. The hip joints tend to be wobbly but that is due to the number of times I transformed the bike back and forth in 2 modes. There is a waist joint somewhere but rendered useless because we have minimal areas that the torso can cover. It will not be able to stand on one leg just like most S.H. Figuarts figures. But on the lighter side, we have superb arm and head articulation, making this most expressive Auto Vajin to date. This bike can only be surpassed by RAH.
