Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Iron Man Hot Rod Mark XXII

The S.H. Figuarts Iron Man Mark 22 (XXII) is an event-exclusive release set on the seemingly annual Age of Heroes collection.  From the body of War Machine Mark 2 and the Iron Patriot, the base paint is matte black then accentuated with flames on the forearms and legs to follow to one of Tony Stark’s cars.

Accessories to make it short, are the same with Iron Patriot and War Machine Mark 2 but without the shoulder cannon. The extra hands and effects functions the same, as well as how these are applied sparingly with the former releases. But at least should you need a shoulder armament, you can borrow for Iron Patriot or War Machine.

Most Iron Man SHF collectors only dream to have a complete Iron Legion in their grasp similar to what Hot Toys have successfully released so far. I like all alternative paint execution and glad that Bandai still retained the die cast feet. I quite understood how this could be an event only exclusive. But since there are previous executions of the same body make, you can easily have a modified version of the Iron Patriot or the War Machine Mark 2 if you find Hot Rod too exclusive to find one. Here’s hoping to get other Iron Man Legions sooner and later.
