The Hulkbuster Mark 44 from the movie Avengers Age of Ultron is the 2nd collaboration between two lines – S.H. Figuarts and Chogokin. (First one as far as I know was the Machine Itasshar from Akibarangers). This means the figure is a combination of plastic and die cast metal hence the heft of it. This figure already includes batteries under 3 compartments located at the back and another one the head. The set doesn’t include a screwdriver so you would need your precision tools to open each. If you have stubby fingers like me there is a picking tool included to pry those out. There are no further accessories included in the set. Check out the video after the jump.
The minor problems I have with Hulkbuster is that there are moments that the joints felt loose. But upon learning more during this review, these flaws are not really that bad at all. It is just manner of working around with it. If there are needs of improvement, it would have an additional Iron Man head underneath the canopy and hands could have used LEDs as well to complete the look. I’m still wanting a hand/battering ram included but I believe Bandai wouldn’t add in anytime soon because of how this figure was assembled. In closing, there are better Hulkbusters out there that offer more at a lesser price point. But it will be difficult to convince SHF collectors if you need to scale the same with other Avengers S.H. Figuarts.
