Toy Review: EX-053 Figma Batman Ninja: DX Sengoku Edition

I’ll skip out the initial esthetics and bring you directly to the figure. The Figma DX version of Batman Ninja is missing the cape so you need to attach it first to complete the look. The simplest way is to remove the face sculpt to fit the wired cape in. There are two points at the back of the figure, so you need to plug on the top version, the bottom is used for the Figma stand.  More to this from the video review.
The first wave of accessories are 8 hands, a Figma stand, a kunai knife, 2 swords with their respective scabbard, knife-throwing effect and an additional open-mouthed version. The default mouth version needed to be pushed from the outside to replace the new piece in.

Since this is a DX version, the samurai parts are in a special package. It contains all the armors, a hard plastic cape and crossed-arms version. In preparation for the transformation, you need to remove the default head, the ribbon at the back, chest plate and shoulders as you would need to replace these especially the shoulders. Putting hard cape is  just the same as the clothed cape and you will be using the same plug to fasten in. Then all the chain armor fall in and the 2 swords are clipped on the armor attached near the thighs.

There are pros and cons if I compare this against the S.H. Figuarts version. The biggest upside for SHF is the articulation which in retrospec, the company has been the top of the foodchain in this aspect. But that is all with SHF. But in terms of bang for the buck, Figma trumps in this aspect. You have both the ninja version and the samurai version with just added a few bucks. However, the soft joints of Figma do take away the cool factor. Especially on samurai mode, the level of difficulty in posing it is really high. Some parts like both capes do not latch on that well on the figure but I am sure you will have a fun time with the wired cape.
