Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Ant-man and Ant (Ant-man and the Wasp)

Ant-man gets an updated version for the S.H. Figuarts line as part of the Ant-man and the Wasp series. The suit has changed from the deep red colors mold on the shoulders even the transparent goggles. Bandai only added an additional pair of extra hands in order to hold on to the ant.

Out of the box, the ant needs a bit of assembly. The antenna stick just right on the head of the figure. The bigger wings snap in front first then the smaller ones on the back. These wings are almost printed identically so you do not need to worry about the actual placements. Articulation points are only on the inner joints on the legs, the head that only twists left to right and so as the huge abdomen at the back. Its legs don’t really support the overall weight there is a special platform to keep it upright.

Even without the ant, this figure is definitely better than Civil war. The seams are now closer to the body which means the gaps somewhat minimized. My complaint is not on the Ant-man but on the ant. The joints are limited on this figure and every time I try to move some joints around to make it look like it is actually walking, continues to fail miserably. It is only great as a display piece but at least Ant-man sits pretty on the ant.
