Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - TMNT Movie Basic Action Figure – Shredder is one of the mortal enemy of the turtles and of Master Splinter. This movie version looks more aggressive than the comic book version with longer blades, sharper corners and meshed cape. But this figure has a more mechanized leg armor with more joints than the turtles. Unfortunately he doesn’t come with accessories or weapons other than what is already attached.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - TMNT Movie Basic Action Figure – Donatello represents the “brains” amongst the 4 brothers. He is a mix of the old and the new with high tech gadgetry on the head and back, with traditional armor on his lower torso. Only one weapon fits this figure which is his Bo staff. However, like some of the turtles, he can only hold this and not holster anywhere else.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - TMNT Movie Basic Action Figure – Michelangelo has a more modern relax clothing than his brothers. Instead of the traditional armor, Mickey is wearing tight leggings, a sweater wrapped around his waist and even a pair of kicks with his toes sticking out. Mickey also has a pair of weapons, a nunchuck and a Sansetsukon Nunchaku.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - TMNT Movie Basic Action Figure – Leonardo represents the leader of the turtles. This movie version has more armor namely on the chest, shoulders and legs. He is inclusive of this signature twin Katana Swords, that you can holster with plug in sheath on his shell.

Toy Review: TMNT Movie Basic Action Figure – Raphael

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - TMNT Movie Basic Action Figure – Raphael takes on the 2014 movie look with some parts lifted from other Playmates releases. His body has a rubbery cloth waistband with a sling coming from his shoulders. There are also peg holes underneath the feet but that could probably be for future related toys like vehicles. He only has a pair of sais and there isn’t really a place to store his accessories, but with a little bi of imagination you should be able to stick them in his waistband.

Toy Review: TMNT Basic Turtle Figure Series 01 - Donatello

Playmates’ Donatello is the tallest amongst the four brothers and the only one who is shy to show some teeth. Aside from the tallest, he is also the thinnest mutant wearing a purple mask with a longer tail. Maybe taking a cue from Leo, Donatello’s rubber straps are accentuated with a huge buckle and a deeper slot for his Bo. 

Toy Review: TMNT Basic Turtle Figure Series 01 - Michelangelo

At approximately 4 inches tall, Playmates’ Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Michelangelo has the lightest green asset amongst the other ninjas. While the knee and elbow pads follow his brothers’, Michelangelo sports a shorter bandana and a pudgy look. The strap wraps around his waist and has two larger holsters for his twin nunchucks.

Toy Review: TMNT Basic Turtle Figure Series 01 - Rafael

Playmates’ part in creating the hot-headed Rafael in Nick’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles gave a more fearsome look.Aside from the angrier features are more defined muscle sculpt and includes a cracked shell in the front. If Leo’s straps include two sheaths, Rafael has two holsters to hold the twin sais.

Toy Review: TMNT Basic Turtle Figure Series 01 - Leonardo

Playmates’ rendition of Leonardo in the Nick’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Leonardo plays a nice homage on the old sculpt and adding details to make it more updated. I believe the proportions are exact and the well-built muscle tone is just an icing on the cake. On Leo are soft plastic slings that wrap around his shell and ends on two sheaths at the back.
