Here is the review of the S.H. Figuarts Red Hawk from Chojin Sentai Jetman. If it not for Akibarangers, won't be having old sentai heroes such as Red Hawk. It becomes nostalgic to those who have grown up and have watched Jetman that kinda resembles Gatchaman aka G-Force in the US - a team equipped with wings and each member representing different birds.
Red Hawk has all the accessories needed to fully represent the character such as the Bird Blaster, Jet Hand Cannon, Bringer Sword and Wing Gauntlet. Also inclusive are two holsters, 8 interchangable hands, a wing replacement part and lastly the reason why he is released - Akibaranger's the Jet Winger.
The jet winger serves as the nozzle of the Daisoreta Cannon. It wings act as a the platform for the other unofficial rangers to carry. Plugging this at the back of AkibaRed is easy and the wings seem to have hinges but the purpose might make sense once the triumvirate of weapons that compose the cannon is complete.
Red Hawk's wing replacement is a very cool addition to the overall gimmick of the set. I just feel bad that you can't fold the wings to sync with the arm movement. To hide the gap between the wings and the adjacent arm, the arms have to always be in a 90 degree angle sideways. I'm also reluctant to use this wing accessory all the time because it entails removing Red Hawk's back panel. For those who brashly replace this panel, allows the white paint to flake.
Overall, Red Hawk is considered a classic figure to have, bearing a great nostalgic sculpt, almost perfect and flexible articulation and fully detailed from weapons to the figure. I really like it and definitely one of the best SHF heroes for 2012. Check out the video review below for more.
