Atsuki Boukensha, Attack! This is a review of the S.H. Figuarts Bouken Red from Gogo Sentai Boukenger. Just like Jetman's Red Hawk and Dekaranger's DekaRed, the reason of its creation is because of one Akibaranger episode which also gave birth to the Bouken Scooper to form the Inordinate Cannon! Check out the video below how this is formed.
The box contains the Bouken Javelin, Bouken Bo, 2 Survi Blasters (the other is to holster onto BoukenRed) 9 interchangeable hands, 3 Accellulars and the Survi Blade. As for holding the weapons, you need to squeeze the hands in order to hold these properly.
What I am worried about is the red paint running on BoukenRed's creases. Even when the joints rub briefly, you can actually see the red overlapping the white area. It is not as bad as I look at it, but it is there. Another part that I can see some problems is on the chest area. The mold is flat and you can't even do a proper abdominal crunch on the figure. Same goes with the neck articulation. Although the rest of the joints move well, these two areas could have been more poseable like previous sentai leaders.
The only reason I've picked up BoukenRed is in order to complete the Daisoreta Cannon. Overall, he not that bad except for the two flaws I've mentioned earlier. The number of accessories included sort of compensates the lack of articulation on the upper torso. Definitely not the worst figure of the year but the engineering could have been improved.
