Toy Review: R/D Kamen Rider Gaim Orange Arms

Joining the growing R/D (Real Deform) family is Kamen Rider Gaim. R/D uses an SD style of making a smaller version of the hero while maintaining that crisp paint application to match the suit from the show. The figure uses holding hands as defaults but not to worry as there are a few accessories included in the set.

Toy Review: R/D Kamen Rider Wizard (Flame Style)

The R/D Kamen Rider Wizard Flame Style is a more or less 2-3 inch figure sometimes found in UFO catchers in arcades or in just a selected distributors or stores in Hong Kong and Japan. For Kamen Rider Wizard, most of its molds are taken from the soft vinyl offering from the same Banpresto line. But this time, it has a small frame and a big head much in line with the super deformed theme.

Toy Review: R/D Kamen Rider Den-O (Sword Form)

Welcome to the last preview and review for the R/D Kamen Riders and we will end with time traveling Den-O. I'll try to make this short and sweet. As the first R/D Kamen Rider to be released, Den-o has more noticeable weak points such as the legs that wobble to much. The Dengasher's blade is really thin and as heat took over, it warped during the transit. Even the shoulder accent is uneven too.

Again, taking a cue from many previous Den-O releases that worked, he has a set of compound eyes with a translucent plastic on top and silver bug-eyed silver panel beneath it. .

Toy Review: R/D Kamen Rider W Cyclone Joker

The second part of my (just proclaimed) R/D week. Lets take a look on the mini half-boiled rider before its actual release in April. The R/D (Real Deform) Banpresto Kamen Rider W also has a humble number of accessories mainly two holding hands, his silver muffler and one hand for his signature saa omae no tsumi o kazero (Let's Count Your Sins). Double's muffler is made from a soft vinyl, the same material used for Banpresto's Sofubi. I like how it flows and how the folds and creases are molded. However, it takes a bit getting used to using this accessory since it is on a soft ball-jointed peg and doesn't swivel easily for different poses. If this warps differently, try using warm water or blow-dry this in low temperature so it wouldn't melt.

The hands are molded nicely with pointy knuckles sticking out. I would have guessed by now that a Hardboilder - Kamen Rider W's motorcycle, will be coming out soon and I hope these hold and snug well on the throttles.

Toy Review: R/D Kamen Rider OOO Tatoba Combo

This maybe is your first actual look at the R/D or Real Deform Kamen Rider OOO by Banpresto. Banpresto is more known to manufacture sofubi - a rubbery plastic that is in forever in a static standing position. Well Banpresto suddenly took their sofubi and gave it some joints. That's the birth of R/D - their answer to the long gone Deforide series.

Impressively, Banpresto gave a lot of colour to the box art with the R/D logo on the top left hand side and opposite is Banpresto's logo. Additional decals include the OOO show logo, the 30 point action insert and of course the name Kamen Rider OOO. Still in its infancy, R/D OOO box has the figure in front with the subtle image of Tatoba highlighting where the joints are.
