Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Apollogeist Reborn

Just like the doctors at G.O.D., Bandai also revived Chief of Security with the S.H. Figuarts Apollogiest Reborn. This uses almost the same frame as the first Apollogiest release, having thin arms and legs. The visual differences from the previous version are the Perfecter on the head, flame accents on the cape, the Apollo Magnum bayonet on his right hand with a soft rubbery blade and shield-like shoulder accessory.

Apollogiest Reborn only has 3 left hands and an updated look of the Geist Cutter. In order to use the cutter with the holding hand, the handle must be detached by pushing this on the other end. That sort of completes the look but still limited in dynamic parts unlike other S.H. Figuarts figures.

Because of how the cape is molded, the figure is having some difficulty in standing up straight or at least finding the right balance. A minor nitpick and easily let go once you begin to pose him in different ways. Now you got 2 versions, a Tamashii Web Exclusive and a Toei Hero.net. It is up to you know which one you’d prefer. For me, I like this version better since the accents hide how thin this figure actually is. Add on design is actually more acceptable since it is a step closer to those who watched Kamen Rider Decade. But I still wonder if we will see a Kamen Rider Decade version in the near future. Again, I still personally choose S.I.C. over the SHF version just simply because the S.I.C. pack more and you need not to wait for 2 versions. More to this from the video review below.
