Toy Review: S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Psyga

My second favorite white Kamen Rider is the S.H. Figuarts Kamen Rider Psyga from the movie, Paradise Lost. As the 5th person to receive the Rider Gear, Psyga’s motif includes purple and blue accents such as his unique Global Feeler as antennas, the Psyga Core on the chest and blue lines where Photon Streams run throughout his body.

Psyga unlike other riders, he only has a few accessories but would suffice because of his character being movie-based. The figure includes 2 pairs of hands, the Psyga belt with the phone, and one without, Psyga phones in blaster and phone modes. The highlight is a pair of Tonfa Edges and the jet pack called the Flying Attacker. This replaces the panel at the back of the figure and clipped on his belt. This has extra joints so that you can adjust the figure’s position accordingly. It converts into Blaster Rifle Mode by swinging the arms to the front while being clipped by pegs to secure with the handles.

I was excited that Psyga finally gets an S.H. Figuarts treatment since the character design alone follows a bit of Kamen Rider Faiz but better. The figure is entirely not a copy from Faiz that is good as Psyga has his own appeal. There are limitations when the figure holds on the Flying Attacker but it has the same great poseability when using the Tonfa Edges. Moreover, he still retains the same die cast feet that really helps on the figure’s balance especially on the certain poses.
