Toy Review: SH Figuarts Ankh (Lost)

 

2011 was absolutely a crazy year with tons of SH Figuarts releases almost every week. I had to adjust my spending budget and choose the ones I like and stick to it. My strategy was the same with Dopants - skip all. This means I missed a lot, for example the SHF GREEED releases. I hailed GREEED SHFs as one of the best figures of 2011 because of how detailed these villains were, their playability etc. What was getting in my way was the price point. But amongst the Greeed figures I skipped I only chose two figures to get, one is Ankh (Lost) and the other is Ankh Complete (coming soon).

The S.H. Figuarts Lost Ankh continues on the legacy of good-looking SHF GREEED figures since last year. I've seen them all but this is my first Greeed ever. I passed the previous releases because the prices were too steep for me back then. Besides with the miniscule budget I have, I set just to take only one Greeed.

Toy Review: SH Figuarts Ankh Stand Set

Ahh, one of my spur-of-the-moment pre-ordered items for the month of August. The SH Figuarts Ankh Stand Set. I'm not so sure why I wanted one probably I was interested on how this will turn out. The Ankh Stand Set is actually a pretty release and it is not exclusive (it shouldn't be at 20 bucks). This is far better than the exclusive Unkh figure that came with first release SHF Tatoba.

The package is half the size of a regular SHF release but still retains the bo art of the SHF Kamen Rider OOO release. Just see it as a pint-size SHF box. Instead of Unkh as previously spelled on the 1st Tatoba Release, we have now Ankh as per the subbed videos we see on sites such as TV Nihon.

Many Kamen Rider Collectors thought this would not happen this year but it did. Bandai is slapping MaxFactory with their first SHF Kamen Rider Ryuki! Recently Bandai revealed that they are releasing SH Figuarts Kamen Rider Ryuki which is set on August 2011.

Many MaxFactory fans had their head scratching....why?

Riho/Hina a Kamen Rider?

Fans of different sexes debate of how to categorize a Female Kamen Rider or who is really the first female rider. There is another one to debate on. According to fellow toku bloggers Gideon and Jefusion - Hina Izumi (Unhk's host sister)will become the 8th kamen rider in the franchise just like Femme (sorry she is only one I recall at this moment).

From a similar post in 2ch - the TV station that airs Kamen Rider series (just in case you don't know)it is rumored that Hina will become a Kamen Rider either in the series, summer movie or the series' hyper battle video. Her medals are Hyacinth, Carnation and Tulip Core Medals. So she will be called Kamen Rider HiCaTu - fine :P.

Toy Review: SH Figuarts Kamen Rider OOO Tatoba

I've been waiting for this figure to arrive in the Lion City for many weeks now. Patience is a virtue and good things comes to those who wait. I'm excited to get a hand on the SHF Tatoba combo just because I wanted to get Unkh (now I know the real spelling). As per one of my comments from my Youtube subscriber, the name Unkh is from the Hindi word Ankh which means the eye. Bet you didn't know huh? (Am I describing myself?). Is he worth it or forgettable? Let's find out.
