Just like Gen Urobuchi, Kamen Rider Gaim's producer Naomi Takebe was also interviewed in this month's issue of Hyper Hobby Magazine which leads to more information about why the 15th Heisei Rider's theme is fruits and locks.
According to the article there are two things that influenced the fruit theme and the Orange Arms as the main armor for Gaim: 1) fruits was suggested by Bandai, 2) in a survey, Orange is the most popular fruit amongst kids.
So how about Griton who uses a nut theme? Takebe explained: "That’s because Gen Urobuchi said he wanted to put the locks in different
ranks. He thought nuts would be a good idea. Just like in OOO, you had
Cell Medals and Core Medals separating each other. In Gaim there will be
fruits and nuts." Check out the entire Q&A from this link.
Kota Kazuraba/Kamen Rider Gaim will be played by 2011's Junon Superboy
contest winner - Gaku Sano. Produced by Motoi Sasaki and Naomi Takebe,
written by Gen Urobuchi,
directed by Ryuta Tasaki and Takayuki Shibasaki, Kamen Rider Gaim starts
airing this October 6.
