From the same makers of Riobot figure series, Japanese company Sen-Ti-Nel is teaming up with Takara Tomy to release its Transformers Optimus Prime Pen. This latest offering will enable a working pen to transform into a poseable Optimus Prime action figure.

If Optimus Prime Is A Pen, Megatron Is A Sega Mega Drive

From the same makers of Riobot figure series, Japanese company Sen-Ti-Nel is teaming up again with Takara Tomy to release its Transformers Mega Drive Megatron. Taking its cue from Sega's 16-bit Mega Drive console the, the figure will transform form a gaming console to a Megatron's poseable robot mode. Due to release this September 2014, the figure is priced at $119.99 through Bigbadtoystore.

Toy Review: Mecha Nations 01 Transformers Optimus Prime

Kids Logic first Mecha Nations Transformers figure is no other than Autobot leader, Optimus Prime. Metallic acrylic paint that was applied is similar to the company’s Egg Attack series. Similar to Egg Attack, Optimus Prime uses a super deformed treatment but this time, the company has the license to include at least 22 articulation points. Wheels can turn, even if the figure doesn't transform into convoy mode.

To celebrate 2014’s Lunar New Year, Hasbro releases the Transformers Year of the Horse Optimus Prime Platinum Edition. Let’s talk about Prime in vehicle mode. The toy itself sets a deep red and blue color then highlighted with auspicious gold whereas silver on the MP-10. On one side has the Autobot symbol painted in while the other side has the Autobot logo with the year of the horse. The entire truck has no issue rolling back and forth with the roller bearings and the rubber tires.

In truck mode, this is one of the most awful looking vehicle mode in Transformers history. The cabin is off while the wheels and the rest of the body behind it almost have the same length as its cabin. But this is not really you are after.

Recently surfaced online is a prototype of Kids Logic's latest Deformed Action Figure Transformers:Optimus Prime. It seems like Kids Logic is banking a lot on well-known characters aside from the recent Marvel EGG Attack Iron Man Mark IV. 

Toy Review: Kre-O Transformers Ultimate KREON Collection (with Optimus Prime)

The Kre-O Transfomers Ultimate KREON Collection set with Optimus Prime contains the aforementioned Autobot leader, Sentinel Prime, Soundwave and a random character.Though seems unnecessary, each comes in pieces so you still need to assemble each KREON to form the character. In addition to the set are four guns for each mini figure and from here the unique weapons are on Optimus Prime and Megatron. More to this from the video review after the jump.

BAPE Collaborates With Takara Tomy For Transfomers 01 Convoy Bape Version Red Camo Release

A Bathing Ape (BAPE) has collaborated with Takara Tomy to release the Transfomers 01 Convoy Bape Version Red Camo on March 30. The mold is reminiscent of the G1 Transformers Prime but repainted in red camouflage. Price is 7,560Yen. Check out this link to find out more.

Revoltech No.40 Jet Wing Optimus Prime

Kaiyodo recently released official images for Revoltech No.040 Optimus Prime Jet Wing slated October at 4,800Yen. This version of Optimus Prime is in line with the movie Dark of the Moon that includes a nicely sculpted wing and accessories. 

Accessories include an axe, sword, two pairs of hands, a signature Revoltech stand and a interchangeable head that has Optimus' closed mouth piece. His height is approximately 140mm in height. More images after the jump. 

Takara Builds Optimus Prime Life-Size Snow Sculpture

Japanese toy maker Takara Tomy announced that a life-size snow sculpture of Optimus Prime is currently on the works. The autobot leader will be featured at this year's Asahikawa Winter Festival, Hokkaido Prefecture to be held on February 8 to 12. Below is Takara Tomy's artist rendition of the intended sculpt.

The construction of the 16-meter Optimus Prime started last January 6 and aims to complete in time for the festival.

Toy Review: Transformers Animated Optimus Prime (Voyager Class)

 

Until this post, I still haven't captured a glimpse of Transformer Animated and I still don't know when to catch on. Even if it aired some 3 years ago. But this didn't stop me in buying and liking Hasbro's TF Animated Optimus Prime figure. Judging by the reviews of the sempais (seniors) before me, their influences has lead me to Optimus. Besides I got Megatron, so why not get Optimus Prime as well?

The voyager box design continues to have that odd shaped imagination just like Megatron's. Just replace the Megatron's pic and blub with Optimus' and voila!. It took me a while to open it and to my surprise, the vehicle mode is quite decent. A matter that I wouldn't expect from American-released figures.

Toy Review: Transformers United Optimus Prime

My first TF review. After I got my first War for Cybertron Soundwave in ToysRUs, I was eager to find other similar looking toys with this line - my primary target was Optimus Prime. It has been 17 years since I had my TF figure and the Cybertron concept was appealing to me. I saw a lot of reviews about Optimus dated a year ago and I knew I'll have that challenge of finding my own. Surprisingly, in a short scouring all over the Lion City, I accidentally saw a Japanese version. This was made by Takara Tomy and not Hasbro and it is called Transformers United (for noobs like me). 

I haven't played the WFC game but the concept of what Optimus looks like in Cybertron is handsome. Some might not dig it but hey this is a concept.
